After watching the game 3 times, this is what I concluded.

--the fumble lost where the ball slipped out of his hands.

--the 3rd and 12? where he overthrew a wide open Landry at the 10 yard line.

--the check down to Hill, with his TE running free down the middle of the field.

I get we had a game plan, but I still see a lot of things that could've made this game a rout.

No worries. Mett will come back strong--poor Ole Miss

i really think our passing game had a bad day. sure, the run strategy greatly reduced the number of passing opportunities but the tailback pass to mcgee never got revisited, the trick play blew up when the lineman went downfield and mett's accuracy was poor on some of his throws.

i think mett and co. are gonna burn ole missy's defense bad.

Are you saying anyone said he didn't have his worst game?

I think everyone pretty much got that.

It's called regression to the mean.

He also missed a wide open Kadron Boone in the first quarter that would have been a big gain. Missed a rollout to Dural later. One of his longer completions to Landry was an interception until Jarvis wrestled the ball away from the DB. He also hurried a couple of passes he shouldn't have because his protection was good.

Still, this past game was a lot better than what we had to live with before him.

I'm not worried. He definitely didn't have a stellar game. It was great to see the D step up though. They knew that it was now or never.

even then it doesnt sound like it was terrible. what he threw the ball 17 times and completed 9? sounds more like a conservative offense that didnt want to overestimate fu's secondary more than anything?

So you are only comparing two games as opposed to the entire season?

IT TOOK YOU 3 times to figure this out?

Were you just unsure after the 2nd time?

and his line would have been a top five performance for each of his two predecessors. Think about that.

How are these conclusions? I would call them observations, and it took me watching the game 1 time to observe them.

Yeah, I agree EthanL, and there are loads of reasons we could speculate about.
The "Bradshaw" fumble fortunately I think is just a matter rushing himself or a bit of a lapse of concentration. I don't think it is like JR when we could expect him to fumble because of the way he held the ball in the pocket.
TE play may be tendency, and that tendency will be broken when he sees on the game film how wide open he was.
The over throw, I don't know, could be rushing? Trying to make too good of a pass?
Really the only concern I have of Mett going forward and I don't remember the details except I saw him limping and in obvious pain after a play. I think it was third quarter, taking a hit after a pass completion? Maybe. That's my big concern.
