I agree we should pay homage to a his legend, but the gumps have ruined the coolness of statues in my opinion.

Came off to be a really good soul over the radio. I wish him peace and strength to the family.

So sad. Me and the gf traveled to BR this weekend and stayed with my parents for the game. Early Sat morning we all watched Old War Skule. His part about "his boys" always gets me choked up and had me choked up a bit today. What a great person to have represent LSU.

Geaux!

My Dad went to high school with Paul in Mansfield Ohio. Class act and we should name the football field after him IMO...

I particularly liked this comment about Coach Dietzel in the South Carolina press:

quote:

I was a waiter at South of the Border back in the day when "Pepsodent Paul" was at USC and he was down one night having dinner with his good buddy Alan Shafer (who owned the Border). He was charming the pants off every person in the place when possibly the biggest Clemson fan in Dillon county muttered, "I can see why he has got good teams. Give him five minutes alone with a recruit's mother and they'd BOTH be going to Carolina." He was a class act.

America has lost a great man, LSU a great Tiger.
