Zero for me this morning, SE la public marsh. High blind I know of in the area was two birds. Gonna go tomorrow just because I can, maybe some will show over night. Saw a few decent bands but nothing close to what we'd usually see. Reports out of Delacroix area I got ranged from 8 to DNS.

Got 11 with 2 of us in the blind. Will add a photo later.

At 550 we had a lone teal land in the spread, starting fluttering from group to group, then it got up and flew straight back down into one of the hen dekes. Pretty funny to watch, looked like he was trying to get friendly.

ETA: Shoulda had limits and been done by 7 am, too much chit chat and drinking.

Also Nhassl declined the invite then overslept to go with a buddy, just saw he posted it haha.

Somewhat east of Morse and south of Crowley. A bunch early but thinned out fast. We were very lucky.

Just as bad as fishing. Should of been there yesterday. 3 hunters and not a shot fired. Same spot yesterday morning, I saw tons of teal. Today, 3 big bands sky high and one small band around 30 birds landed about 150 yards from us.

This is a first time from 1965 of NOT getting a limit on opening day, much less not even firing a shot.

I will still give it a try tomorrow, I guess. BL's are winning at this point.

MWP, how y'all do? Hunting was spotty in Palacios, TX area, I drew a good blind and we had 3 man limit at 8:30. Shooting was embarrassing, should have been done by 7:30. I heard the birds showed up in numbers in our area yesterday...

had to pepper a few to keep them at bay. 4' range big enough to maim a dog.

+1000

Just not worth bringing a dog with gators active. Especially with active feeding gators in the pond/rice field. Just plain stupid, Dog owner should be sent out to retrieve in this case without a gun and see how he likes it.
