LSU and "the Never Ending Dual QB System"

After a while they should just label every year this, seeing it seems the news never thinks we have the "right" guy in at all times.
To me thats Cam saying NO, but for some reason the news wants it every year.
What do yall think, keep trying something that never worked for us before, or stick with the guy that has been getting the praise from "his" offense.

But, perhaps more significantly, the Tigers seem to be toying with the idea of implementing a package that uses Jennings’ versatility as a complement to Mettenberger’s pocket passing.
Whether Jennings is going to see a few snaps in the season opener against TCU won’t be known until sometime after kickoff on Aug. 31, but it does appear to be a possibility.
Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron wasn’t about to let on about plans for Jennings, and with good reason.
“In an opening game, a true freshman, not that he couldn’t play, but why would you (play him)?” Cameron said. “And strategically, if we were going to do it, I wouldn’t tell you anyway.”

I agree. Jennings should start.

except that time in 2007 when Perrilloux was really effective and complimented Flynn well...

I think les can't resist throwing Jennings out there for a play or two early in the season ONLY to give future opponents extra to gameplan for.

Rotating QBs because they suck isn't really a dual QB system.

I dont know what I think about this. Whats Jennings rated in NCAA 14?
being serious im all for jennings getting snaps so we arent breaking in a completely new QB next year again. I dont want him to just go in a run but actually run the offense

In the eyes of LSU fans (including the local Baton Rouge media), the best quarterbacks in LSU history are Y.A. Tittle and whoever the current backup is. And not necessarily in that order.

I think it's pretty clear that Mett is the starter, and this is not a dual QB system. Jennings and Mett will not be splitting time down the middle like Jefferson and Lee. What they are going to do is get a very talented freshman QB, who is now #2 on the depth chart, playing experience, so he will be ready in case Mett suffers injury this year, and next year when he likely takes over. Jennings will likely have certain packages where he is able to use his running ability, as a change of pace in certain games. Nothing wrong with that if it helps the team win, but Mett is clearly the starter.

The only times we had a "2 QB System" were the times that JJ stunk so bad that he should have lost his job or had lost his job sue to suspension. The 2 QB system was just there to get JJ in the game.

Cam loves athletic QBs, especially at the college level. I'll be shocked if Jennings doesn't get some snaps vs. TCU. Cam also didn't let anyone know that Antwaan Randle El was starting his redshirt freshman year at Indiana. Randle El threw for 300-plus yards and 3 TDs and rushed for 80 yards and 3TDs in his first game and wasn't announced as the starter until pregame.
Mettenberger will obviously start but I think Jennings will get snaps very early in the season. As others mention, it forces defenses to prepare for more packages. He also wants to get him quality, pressure-filled snaps this year with him a possible starter next season.
