Maybe brilliant was a bit overkill referring to this particular context.

Unnecessary jab at an rival teams player. If i am an LSU player, and that a-hole is holding my teammate and friend as a "learning tool" i am gonna wanna kick is team in the teeth.

To me, it shows respect for Hill and LSU.

The article didn't go into specifics on how the speaker used the video to get his message across but I'm guessing to show players that every move you make, people are watching. People are always watching. And that players from high profile universities, like Bama and LSU, have to live under a microscope more than ever due to technology and social media.

Something I learned a long time ago, and Saban saw an opportunity to use it...

" No one is totally useless, they can always be used as a bad example..

How stupid are some of these guys?

Did you even read the whole article? It clearly says a guest speaker was brought in, one that is not in any way affiliated with the Univ of Alabama, to give a presentation on "Avoiding Distractions and Dangerous Decisions". The speaker touched on a number of recent high profile criminal cases involving football players, including Josh Brent who killed his teammate in a car accident. Was he also taking a shot at the Dallas Cowboys? Of course not. I'm not defending Saban in anyway, but its a reach to say it was cheap shot towards LSU.

The paparatzzi wasn't there to capture it.

There weren't any news videos of them in handcuffs?

The most powerful thing I saw in there was the Farmer story. Alas humans are humans, and they'll do what they want regardless.

I would guess it wasn't on video (that being the BAMA players).
if it was, the student deleted it once he found out that it may hurt THE BEAR'S TEAM! They are certifiable over there. They commit domestic terrorism when their team loses. No Bama fan will ever turn a football player in. They will delete the video out of pure lunacy. Our fans? Haha, LSU isn't that important to them.

I am assuming this speaker was paid for his presentation. Just wondering if he got permission from the person who took the video or the persons involved to use it.

I don't get it, why would you videotape it then show it to the police when you know you weren't even involved or cared for anyone involved? He obviously has never heard of the stop snitching rule and if he was at a place with predominantly black people, that tape would have never left the parking lot.

The "bromance" that some of you have with Nick Saban is disgusting. Just remember that as an LSU fan, you are nothing but a slut mistress to him, and you call him brilliant? All of you whom worship Saban are tools and potentially hurting our program by constantly drooling all over that prick.

I don't know what else to say...YOU DISGUST ME!!!

I thought it was a good article. I usually have a different opinion from just reading the thread title versus reading the whole link.

These presentations don't hit home if they use extreme or unusual examples, you'd just think "Well I'm not gonna murder someone, this is waste of time." But the Hill video was part of the relatable incidents the speaker used: argument with a girlfriend getting out of hand, late night ending with a DWI manslaughter, and a big man on campus getting in a bar fight. They even used the recent Dee Liner instagram photo as a social media example.

Skip Bertman once said at a Breakfast I attended when Saban was at LSU, that he had never met a person in his life that paid more attention to details than what Saban did and that was coming from a man that said he checked the heat of the coffee that was sold at Alex Box Stadium. Saban has his hand in everything and obviously is a stickler for details and will try to gain an advantage in any way that he can.

Saban has enough of his own troubled players and pre-mature retired players to use for examples.
