Despicable scum. Must sting to have the clubs from merseyside go 4 and 0 against them.

Always makes me laugh that Sterling is always jumping into someone else's arms...

So...we get an additional 40 million for Champions League Group Stage.

I'm assuming we get more from the major sponsors (such as Standard Chartered) as well? Anyone know how much bigger our war chest should be this year?

So, what everyone's opinion on Mignolet? Good enough to take us to the next level..

I know he's a good shot stopper, but as the season has gone on, I have moved into the "we need an upgrade" category...

I think Mignolet has done outstanding as a shot blocker, and really improved with the ball at his feet and as a distributor. I mean, some of the saves he has made are a strong case for instinctual, but he's also reading things at an incredibly quick rate and correctly anticipates where shots are going.

I have zero doubts he is an upgrade to Reina in most phases of the game.

I think, for whatever reason, he struggles in communication (or Skyrtel et al can't always hear him). I also think he struggles at time with crossing and coming out - though he's much much better at corner kicks than he was earlier this year.

I'd keep him as number 1 for next year and see how much he keeps improving. He's still relatively young. And importantly, I don't think he's anywhere near one of the priority areas this coming window. The money can better be spent in other areas for next year as depth will be needed.

Reina is still far superior in his ball skills and distribution IMO... That said, he is done here and i don't necessarily want him back either...

I can live with him on board as our #1 for another season, to see how he progresses... I have seen it written many times that BR would like to bring in someone to challenge him, which Brad Jones will never do..

I don't think he's near as bad with his distribution and the ball at his feet as a lot of people make it sound. Is he Pepe? No, but he's also not some goon who has to punt it every time. And you can tell he's improved here from the start of the season.

I don't think anyone will argue his shot stopping ability, although I think he could get better at making catches and holding onto shots versus nearly always punching.

Now his decision making to come off his line and play the ball in the air has been pretty bad. Case in point, last game. It almost seemed like the recognized it early and told him to pretty much never come off his line, although he's gotten a little better at making decisions and coming out but still has some trouble making a play on the ball.

Overall, he's still young by keeper standards, so I have no problem sticking with him for now. And I agree, we have much more pressing needs that will need to be addressed prior to GK IMO. Hell, I'm even okay with sticking with Jones as a backup for another year, when the money could be better off spent on more outfield players to improve depth and upgrade on the starting XI.

But he should sometimes, he looks dodgy every time he tries to play it out from the back under any sort of pressure at all.

I think he's gotten better, but sure, there's times where he should. Same goes for Sakho

He gets one more year no matter what, IMO. He's too young to boot after one season in which he played well, but not outstanding.

Last of the buildings around Anfield have been purchased. The Daily Mail has a few renderings out but more will be available in the coming weeks.

Apparently by 2018 it should be completed

The first leg of Atletico-Chelsea couldn't have gone any better for us. Neither a big win nor a big loss for Chelsea means we probably won't be seeing Chelsea at full strength on Sunday.

An upgrade to Mignolet would be nice, of course, but I think he's a very solid keeper. And I expect him to be better next season. I'm perfectly happy with him in goal next season and possibly beyond that.

GK is toward the bottom of the list in terms of upgrades for me. Unless a veteran type of GK can be purchased for under £5m or so, put that money towards other key areas (LB, CB, CM, Winger) before upgrading an already pretty solid player. Migs isn't close to his prime. He'll improve. But upgrading him at this point is a luxury I don't think LFC has

He always gives up free kicks in dangerous areas... Usually they are at the edge of the 18
