If we do that, would we go to a flat 4? Agreed though, Cissokho looks like shite today

Possibly a 4-3-3, but I'm not quite sure. I would go 4-3-3 right now with Coutinho or Moses

Since we lost, that means we can finally put Agger back in right? Because I'm almost certain he just didn't want to mess with a winning formula

I don't know. Rodgers outsmarts himself sometimes. 6 matches without a clean sheet and he keeps the defense the same when a world class CB is sitting on the bench.

Also midfield needs a shake-up bad. It just isn't working. Whether that means sit Gerrard or not I'm not quite sure. They were hilariously bad today

Yep I don't get it either. There's no reason for Agger to be sitting on the bench if he's healthy. Absolutely none.

And the midfield was fricking abysmal. Hendo had his first poor game in a while and the Gerrard/Lucas combo continues to be underwhelming. Literally zero creativity from those 3 today.

Cissokho was absolute shite today so I'm glad he got yanked at the half. Kolo was pretty poor in the second half and almost cost us 2 more goals.

Lots of teaching opportunities to take away from this one. Let's hope Brenden takes advantage

Nothing new to say. Arsenal played pretty well but pretty clear our worst game of the season so far IMO. Not sure I'm ready to give up on the 3-5-2 but pretty clear it's not something we can trot out against one of the top teams in the league unless we have our first XI. And agreed about the midfield. I'd be interested to see how Allen and Henderson do paired together if nothing less to give Gerrard and Lucas a swift kick in the arse

Totally agree. When Flanagan needed the start, you had to switch. we can't play second or third choice outside backs in the 3-5-2.

Very frustrating loss. Defense was not good. AS others have said, midfield was non-existent. We need a formation where Cou can play in the middle, imo.

Its definitely time to get Allen in there some - whether its off the bench or to give Gerrard a "rest" or just to sit Lucas' arse down, I don't know. Even in our wins, our midfield has been very non-existent for at least half the game. And its time to do it before January, for if we need a better midfield, January is the time to do it - hopefully we'll still be in top four contention at that point.

Nothing shameful about losing away to the top team in the table.

I get you, but we were flat out bad. Just blatantly bad.

yeah, although it got a little scary at the end when we brought on ALL OF THE FULLBACKS, you guys did not play well. I remember Gerrard taking a FK. don't remember Lucas doing anything. formation was bad. Flanagan wasn't bad imo, but he offered little offensively. midfield was overrun.

Arsenal just took advantage of our weakness at fullback and with our two man midfield, there hasn't been anyone dropping deep to take away the space between the midfield and the back 3. Too much space for a team that has 3 AM's in the starting line up with creativity

Tracking back has been our Achilles heel since day one. Gerrard just not disciplined enough.
