I'm thinking Davis for Zusi(Fab to RW), and Klejstan for Jones.

In the end, I think Jurgen will settle on Cameron, but I really like what Klejstan does in the CDM role. He was one of our few bright spots verse Belgium, I'm really hoping he gets another look.

Cameron for Jones, although Kljestan would be okay as well.

Move Fabian Johnson to left back and play Eddie Johnson on whichever wing spot he's more comfortable with. That leaves one more midfield spot (since I've benched Beasley and put Fabian in defense), and I'd like to see that spot go to Holden.

interesting.

I think Holden's role should be limited for a bit more time, let him ease into things this qualifying cycle. Give him the full 90 every game of the gold cup, and if he does well enough, bring him back into the A team.

Feilhaber and Donovan.

Instead, we'll probably get a defender in central midfield, and a striker at right wing.

tied for first in the hex, sitting in front of mexico with a game in hand, still incapable of giving Jurgen some credit.

Yeah, you could definitely be right that it's a gamble. In that case, play Kljestan and Cameron alongside Bradley as central mids, EJ as a wing, Dempsey and Jozy in the same roles as before.

That central midfield looks so weak suddenly without Jones, Danny Williams, hell even Jose Torres and Edu. Is Torres injured?

Seems most likely.

I'd prefer Kljestan and unfortunately our best RM options are two forwards. GAM is a slightly better option than Gomez right now it seems.

Gomez is hurt. Y'all quit crying over Donovan, he's not coming back for these next 2 games so deal with it.
I also don't see how anyone would prefer Cameron in the midfield over Klejstan, that's a no brainer for me, Cameron offers very little going forward, Klejstan can actually make plays going forward.
I wouldn't totally bench DMB, but I would like to see him at his natural position LM. He's one of the few true wingers we have and we play him out of position.
FJ has a short leash JK said, he hasn't been contributing at all at LM and he's ab to get put back on defense where he belongs.

I would say we start Klesjtan, and hopefully once we have a lead in the second half, sub him for Cameron to play a more defensive role. I thought he did well there against Jamaica but yeah he doesnt offer much going forward and creating opportunities.

would be perfectly fine with this. just get 3 points while we're at home, thats all I care about

Uh, no. It was always nuts to leave LD off, it's even moreso now with Zusi and Jones out.

I would, b/c I think we're going to score goals either way at home. I'm more worried about preventing goals, and Cameron offers more defense. I would sit Cameron in front of the back four and let Bradley roam forward like Jones has been doing.
If we need goals in the 2nd half, sub off Cameron.

Fabian needs to be at LB. Seems like he provides less service from the wing now than he did as a LB.

regardless of the validity of your point, lets talk about the guys we actually have here in camp.

If GC stayed disciplined and stayed back all game, then I'd be ok with that if we're letting MB go forward all game, he's looking better and better attacking in the final 3rd.

amen to this x1000. He has been average at best at LM, and he's an above average LB, we need him back there. I don't get why Klinsmann doesn't play DMB at LM, his natural and best position.

DMBs defensive skill is going to cost us sooner rather than later imo. He just seems to rush into make the tackle too quickly without breaking down and making a sound play on the ball. And for a guy who is so light that usually causes him to lose his footing putting us in a bad position to cover. anyone else notice this?

you're not the only one, I've seen that several times, and agree that he will cost us eventually, his blazing makeup speed has saved him more than once
