it baffles me that people thought it was good. most repetitive game ive ever played. you couldnt pay me to play through it again. by the 2nd half, i just couldnt wait for it to end

Was awesome..
Was one of the best survival games I've played in a long time.
I don't know what Carson is talking about

i loved using the 3 guns they give you and doing the same shite over and over.
only good things were the narrative and soundtrack. completely failed from a gameplay standpoint

I love that game. Especially the last half.

I completely disagree.
The actual gameplay and mechanics are great.
Its also not COD where you need 30 different guns with 15 different attachments. You have a limited selection on guns and each is used really well.
Its also no more repetitive than any other game.

When I hear repetitive gameplay I think of Assassins Creed 1.

The monotony is similar

I thought it was pretty good, but the combat did get repetitive pretty quickly. It has a really neat light / dark mechanic where you have to use light to defeat enemies but there needed to be more, more varied enemies, more engaging environments to fight them in...something.
The the best part of that game is the atmosphere and "Night Springs," a Twilight Zone-esque TV show you can catch from time to time on televisions scattered throughout the environments.
Pick it up if you can find it cheap. You probably can.

I just started it the other day. Enjoyed the first opening chapter. Not very scary or suspenseful, but interesting.

I made sure I played it after dark with the lights out.
It can get pretty eerie IMO.

Did not like it.
Miss an ammo pickup? Oh, guess what, you're out of bullets, your character has the stamina of a 400lb asthmatic man, and there are ghosts chasing you.

Loved it and once you acquire flash bangs, you will giggle like a school girl when get to see the damage that the can do.
Flare guns were pretty damned nice to have towards the end.

Didn't like it but didn't hate it. Not worth the money but maybe a torrent if you like the survival-horror genre.

Well it's $3 right now on steam

All this.
I was hoping Remedy's announcement during the X-Box One unveiling was for Alan Wake 2.

Yeah, once I started getting killed by evil furniture, I threw the controller down and never picked it back up.
