Yeah I know all I talked about last season was Rob Ryan.

Just substitute Spagnuolos name for Ryans. The same from last years threads. Oh man defense is tearing up OTAs, offense is having a lot of trouble adjusting. blah blah blah

Ready for training camp. Feel like there's no reason to come here now.

What was funny about last year was the defense looked good all the way up to the game against the Jags, and then completely fell apart. The next week the Texans torched us pretty good.

The only real thing that gives me hope is roster turn over.

Not saying they won't be good this year, but I'll reserve my judgement until I actually see them perform well in a real game.

How about that first pre-season game last year, the Hall of Fame game? Jenkins gets an INT in like the first or second series.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, just turns out Kolb is a terrible QB. And then the Pats o-line was a mess in the preseason. We felt like big men.

Yeah, I remember being so excited

I mean I don't see why you can't have optimism. Last year we had a slew of injuries, no coaching, and the losing streak to start the season. All the "I don't see any way we get better" comments are a little much.

Or the preseason opener against San Fran the year before. We killed their QB's, and we were besides ourselves. Sigh.

I'm optimistic. I feel like we are finally being sensible about the personnel we have and our young guys are going to get a legit shot. Won't be top ranked, but Brees won't have the mild train wreck he had last year now that CSP is back, and add that to any improvement on D and that should equal good things.

Ryan puts together a good scheme. His biggest weakness is he sometimes gets too exotic and cute for his own good. Sometimes he seems to forget the situation and the plays and players get in too late which causes breakdowns.

If he can clean that up he will be excellent. But to be honest, the Dallas D was just as prone as the offense to boneheaded mistakes that were often due to trying to do too much rather than simply plays heads up football.

Again, when he doesn't get too fancy during games the D will be really good. As long as he resists the urge to throw too many different looks the Saints D should see some bigtime improvement.
