I had to check and make sure this wasn't a thread started before last season.
Rob Ryan in the title wasn't enough of a give away?

Not surprised at all. Brees has always had trouble vs the 3-4

Comparisons to last season's defense are dumb. Nothing about this defense resembles last year's.
This. Our players were not put in the right position to make plays.

even still, we saw reports of jenkins intercepting brees over and over which EVERYONE was extremely excited about. Season comes, he gets burned, so I'm reserving all judgement for at least mid-way through the season, even though this is a COMPLETELY different defense.

Yeah, the D lost that, along with their anal virginity.

Maybe we should have looked at that as Brees forcing too many throws just like he did in games.

Hopefully with Bushrod gone someone can step in and do a better job, and Strief being healthy will definitely help.

OK but heres the thing, 1. this is a totally different defense and scheme from last year, 2. you never heard any of the players excited about playing in the defense or the offense saying that defense was causing them to second guess themselves. so to me all this is encouraging news so maybe you guys just need to have a little faith.

Those kind of defenses always seem to mess with Brees. See Browns in 2010 when they killed us at home. Having to face that every day must be great for the offense to learn how to adjust against

That game the linebackers kept shifting around and showing mixed signals, really messed with Brees' uncanny ability to read the defense. I look forward to what RR can bring to NOLA, besides an appetite.
