I mainly drive on the street but I want a slightly more aggressive tire on my Titan. I get about 13mpg now and don't want to drop to 8 because of huge mud tires, also I'm gonna drive this truck till it collapses so I'm not putting a ton of money into it.

So what's a good hybrid tire at a good price?

I went with Falken Rocky Mountain AT's about a year ago to replace a set of BFG ATs on my F250.

The Falkens were $300 or more cheaper and should last longer than the BFG's did (Falken claims 50K miles)

traction in mild off road (muddy pasture roads) seems ot be about the same, no road noise.

If these last over 40K miles I'll be happy.

Just put a set of BFG Rugged Terrains on my Jeep. Replaced a set of BFG A/T's that were on there and worn out.

I put the Falken Wild Peak A/Ts on my Titan and it didn't affect the MPGs much. I even went up a size from stock. Got them from discount tire online. Free shipping and no tax.

I put some Cooper Zeon LTZ on my tundra and then sold it. Took them off the Tundra and put them on the new Sequoia.

I put rugged terrains on my Sierra. Hard to beat for 140 a tire.

When you go up a size from 265/70/18 you go up to like 275 and don't need to change the 70 right? Or better to change both.

As white trash as it sounds, I've had good luck with the Goodyear Wranglers from Walmart

The 265 is the width of the tire and the 70 is the height of the side wall. The 70 is a percentage of the width though, so if you go up to 275s and keep the 70 you will still get a taller side wall, but if you're really looking to up the height you could go to 75.

Tire Size Calculator

Tire Size Explanation

Changing from 265 to 275, increases the width of the tread (actually between the sidewalls, but the tread is also between the sidewalls). Changing from 70 to 75 increases the height of the tire from wheel to tread.
