Movie Days at School

Anyone else remember those afternoons when the teacher would be swamped with trying to get papers graded, gradebook updated for report card time, ect. and you'd walk in from recess to find this bad boy sitting front and center of the classroom and movie "rented" from the school library.
What do you remember being the "go-to" movies for those days?
We watched the hell out some Little Rascals, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Secret of NIMH, and Old Yeller in elementary school.
High school it seemed like 10 Things I Hate about You and Miralce were the popular choices of the faculty.

In HS we watched those weird Kirk Cameron Rapture movies.
Elementary school was School House Rock, Magic School Bus, or cartoon videos on the lives various saints.

I remember getting Disney classics like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Bedknobs and Broomsticks in grammar school.
In high school we had more interesting selections. I remember my junior English teacher made us watch Joe VS the Volcano and went on about symbolism and some other foolishness and we had to write a paper on it. I'm 99% sure that guy was on drugs or something
In a senior year elective Sociology class we had a teacher make us watch Helter Skelter, the Charles Manson movie. We were learning a little bit about crimninology in that class, but I still didn't see the point, although I can tell you no one fell asleep in those classes

I watched Anchorman probably about 6 times in various Spanish classes. It's just as funny in Spanish with English subtitulos.

In 8th grade we talked our teacher into letting us watch "Tommy Boy" that someone had brought in. Was awesome.

In elementary school I think we watched Beethoven Lives Upstairs in music class about every other week.

My World History teacher showed the class Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and we had to do a brief research paper on one of the historical figures in the movie.

WE got to watch Romeo and Juliet. This one:
Hint: theres boobs in this one. This was confirmed when one of my classmates jumped up, rewound, and paused on the scene, much to the embarrassment of the sub that was there that day.

I took Japanese my senior year. We watched Seven Samurai and Ran. That was awesome.

It was mostly historical movies or movies based on a book we just read, so we really got none of that stuff.

I remember seeing The Abyss for the first time in science class.
They showed The Outsiders about once a year.

Without a paddle.
We were required to cough during some of the worst parts.

We watched quite the variety in my Spanish classes in high school:
Selena
Pan's Labyrinth
In the Time of the Butterflies
Evita
Cinema Paradiso (Italian but with Spanish subtitles)
Romancing the Stone
La Bamba
Stand and Deliver
And a few Disney movies with Spanish subtitles
In English class, we watched a lot of good movies too:
The Crucible
Romeo and Juliet
Great Gatsby (Robert Redford version)
To Kill a Mockingbird
Streetcar Named Desire
Much Ado About Nothing
Pride and Prejudice (Keira Knightley version)

In freshman year lit class, the previous class (a film class) was watching Boyz in the Hood. Our class was going to watch Romeo & Juliet, but i switched the DVDs.
The teacher turned off the lights without noticing and pushed in the DVD. The first words were something along the lines of "motherfricking n***a".
Teacher flipped shite and I blamed on the sophomores who were in his room between class periods. That is my most memorable movie day at school.

In 8th grade religion class my teacher would show Vegitales about once a week. We were like, "We're 14, not 6"

I watched most of the 90s Disney movies in Spanish. I know I've Lion King 3 or 4 times in Spanish, never seen it in English. We watched All Quiet on the Western Front in my senior history class which was cool.
