given all the hoopla over AD around here, i'll mention jessica walter...she's been pretty active since the early 60s...she's in her 70s now, and it seems that more people know who she is now than ever...most of her work has been in tv, so i don't know if that matters or not.

I am sure there may be some better candidates but two that jump into my head are
Robert Duvall and Sean Connery.

Mickey Rooney appeared in films from 1926-2012, and is of course still alive...

Milton Berle also had a 86 year career before he died.

I'm willing to bet Arnold has the biggest box office draw from beginning to current of any actor or actress. Strictly from a money standpoint.
A quality standpoint, you couldn't go wrong with Eastwood or Streep.

Barbara Stanwyck
From The Locked Door in 1929 until near The Colbys in 1986...she was in simi retirement after The Big Valley (1969), she did come back to do The Thorn Birds and The Colbys.
That is only 40 years and of those she was one of the top 5 actresses from 29 until the mid 50's.
Good call. She's vastly underrated.
All good choices in this thread, Stanwyck, Stewart, Eastwood, Streep.
Mifune also had a 40 year career.

He's one of the first ones that I thought of. Katharine Hepburn is a legend as well and was in significant roles for over 60 yrs.
