The property was included in the sale after Owen “Pip” Brennan failed to post a $150,000 bond by 10 a.m. Thursday morning, a requirement of the injunction ordered Wednesday afternoon by Orleans Parish Civil District Court Piper D. Griffin. If the bond had been posted, the injunction would have stopped the sale and seizure of the property.

The owner of Leggo/4 (stupid name) also was part of John Georges' group that bought Galatoire's. How the hell is that building/restaurant worth $6mm, not to mention the $4mm already owed to them by the restaurant.

Good. I hope this means the place will be closing so that a good restaurant can open in that location.

How the hell can a restaurant be in this much financial trouble when they sell 2 eggs on an English muffin for 65 bucks,

Been really bad for at least 5 years now. They sucked on the uninformed tourist tit as long as they could while running the ship in the ground.

There has been so much turmoil in that little family group that I'm amazed it made it as long as it did.

Seems to be about as classic a 'killing the goose that laid the golden egg' story as one could ever find.

Never eaten there, but I've heard nothing but bad about the place for way more than the past 5 years.

Is it really that much easier to run a shitty restaurant, than to run one that is at least just decent?

Depends on the behind the scenes issues, really.

from what ive heard from employees, running it even decently would be a heckuva lot more effort at this point.

Which Brennans own which restaurants? It was always my understanding that one group owned the restaurants in the quarter and the other owened the restaurants outside, but I'm sure this is wrong.

Nah, that is not right.
Ralph owns Ralph's on the Park, Redfish Grill, Cafe B, and Heritage Grill. Maybe one more.

The other normal part of the family owns Commanders, Cafe Adelei, and maybe SoBu.

The nutcase part of the family owns Brennans. Not sure what other one they might own.

Dickie owns Dickie Brennans and maybe another one.

I'm sure up off by a restaurant or two year, but you get the picture. It's confusing.

You're forgetting Dickie, who's got Dickie Brennans, Palace, and I think Mr. B's. He's also opening that joint in the La Petit Theatre, near Jackson Square.
