I understand that, but if they tie all their money up in 2 max deals they will likely have to let him walk then

I realize it isn't happening, I was just referring to the names in MM's write up... Relax

Can Derozan play SF? No way we pay EG and Derozan a combined ~$25m to play the same position.

I agree. Big contract for Derozan, Gordon, and Anderson means we HAVE to be a playoff team because we'd now have almost no flexibility.

I was thinking about it earlier, but the way we've set up our contracts could potentially bite us in the arse if we don't start winning. OKCs "big 3" were drafted consecutively and were on rookie deals. Our big 3 are on two big contracts and one rookie deal. If we don't start winning we could be in spot where Ryno and Gordon's deals are ending at the same time we're trying to convince AD to re sign

really? why?

He's only 23, never hurt and has gotten better each year. He can play the 2 and 3. He is likely better than anyone you would draft and could excel on a team where he isn't the #1 option.

Derozan makes a flat 9.5M until end of 2017 season too.

Nice contract.

Ryno? Not really on a big deal. EG will expire before we need to pay AD major bucks, so we could sign and trade him if he's actually performing like a legit big 3 player and we don't want to go into the tax. Or we could do the same with Ryno if AD isn't playing C at that point. No reason to worry about the tax situation 3 years from now, just let things happen and deal with it then. Just hope Demps makes the right decisions *cough*OKC/Harden*cough*.

Yep. That's not a bad contract for a proven 23 year old with room to grow. He really should have been spending the majority of his time at the 3 throughout his career. Also Gordon is 24, Anderson 25, Davis 20. Solid young nucleus,

Of course this board is obsessed over shitstains like Martell Webster and Corey Brewer so IDK. Different strokes

Demar DeRozan is an average SG who has some nice dunks.

Relax people. Bennett goes top 5, someone drops.

I'm hearing quite loudly from multiple sources the Mavs are likely to trade this pick to save cap room for a run at Dwight Howard this summer.

Move our 6th pick for a player, acquire the 13th from Dallas?

Could get Saric, MCW, Gobert, possibly Shabazz there.

Ryno and Gordon's deals aren't ideal when you're trying to rebuild. You'd like to start with guys on smaller rookie deals like Davis'. Then potentially adding someone like Derozan or Bledsoe, more larger than ideal contracts.

All of a sudden we're a lottery team with 4-5 hefty contracts, and a roster that i can't honestly say would be a contender.

better than I thought.

would prefer more of a swiss army knife sf, but this could work. add a fisher d and 3 type pg and things could start cooking.
