I'm hooked on Chobani. I believe it has a lot more protein and less fat/sugar. I personally like the consistency much better.

and here's the info for Chobani Strawberry Yogurt for instance:

Serving Size6oz (170g)
Serving Per Container 1
Calories 140
Calories From Fat0
% Daily Value
AMT%Total Fat0g 0% Saturated Fat0g 0% Trans Fat0g Cholesterol0mg 0% Sodium65mg 3% Total Carbs20g 7% Dietary Fiberless than 1g 4% Sugars19g Protein14g 28% Vitamin A- 0% Vitamin C- 2% Vitamin D3- 0% Calcium- 20%

Looks like the primary difference is the lack of fat in the Greek variety.

also, here's what Chobani says on their site

quote:

Two Times More Protein per Serving than Regular Yogurt • Fat-Free. Cholesterol Free. • Only Natural Ingredients: Free of Artificial Flavors & Preservatives • Made with milk from cows not treated with rBST • Includes Live & Active Cultures • 3 Types of Probiotics • Kosher Certified • Gluten Free • Safe for People with Corn, Nut and Soy Allergies • Vegetarian Friendly: Made without Gelatin • Less than 5% Lactose • Nothing But Good

The higher protein translates to reduced hunger, increased fullness and a longer time before being hungry again.

Chobani sucks balls.

Fage is the best and it's not even close.

Come on man, you're better than trying to incite a Greek yogurt war.

Or maybe not...

My opinion too. And more than adequate for me to make a purchase decision for Greek.

I used Fage to marinate some chicken for tikka masala a couple weeks ago. Was pretty damn good.

Just opining on which is the best product available.

Fage is the only authentic option available.

The concentration of acidopholous should be greater with less water in the mixture.

ETA, makek your own yogurt at home if you think it cost too much. It doesn't take alot of effort or equipment. Heat a half gallon of 2% milk to 185 F stirring constantly(ish), cool to 105-115, add a halfpint of starter yogurt to the mix and let sit over night on the counter. Run this through cheese cloth or a chinois to extract the water. Fresh fruit of choice for flavor.

I agree, Chobani is sub-par. It has added whey and some pectin, so the mouthfeel is granular and slightly gritty. Fage is miles better, esp if we are comparing 0% fat yogurts.

Now, in the non greek full fat category, it's hard to beat Liberte. Especially coconut Liberte.
