This is my first ford and sometimes when I am turning slowly in 2h it feels like it is in 4wd. Is this normal? I googled it and couldn't find anything.

Yes, it grabs and is jerky like it would if you had it in 4H on pavement.

Bring it to the shop ASAP. If still under warranty. If not, bring it somewhere for a diagnostics test

I might get it checked out. It doesn't always happen just on some sharper slow turns

Sounds like you may be rubbing on something. Get someone to cut the wheel to the max and look under your truck at that time and see if you can see if the side lugs are hitting something. Or if it's been happening a while, you may see a scuffed area on a piece.

I think ford is putting front differential lockers on their trucks now. Put it in 4h and drive forward and backwards just a few feet. Put your truck back in 2 and back up as you turn the wheel all the way to one side. Should make sure it disengages.

I have always had a stock 4x4 with no modifications, so my question is do lifts void any factory warrantys?

The factory can only void the warranty of the parts that you replace. If you do a lift and your radio goes out, they still gotta fix it. If you do a lift and you break a leaf, that's on you. Basically, be reasonable and you'll be fine.
Or, arrange a deal with the service manager that you buy the lift and they install. Often very expensive but you get to keep your warranty too.

Not necessarily.......depends on the dealer.
I had a lifted Chevy and never had a problem getting warranty work.

Depends, If the dealership does the lift, no. It doesn't void the warranty if something breaks on your engine. Suspension parts yes. I've never ran into a warranty issue. But if it does concern you just contact Ford/GM/Dodge.

not true. it just means your dealer is probably more friendly towards lifts.
A dealer can not void your factory warranty for bolt on parts and aftermarket parts unless they can directly show they caused the problem to occur. If said lift was installed by the dealer and lift caused issue, it will not be covered unless the dealer is being nice or you have an additional warranty from the dealer for the lift.
This issue happens all to often in the Jeep world. lots of shady dealers trying to get one over on the uninformed owners

Edited the last part out but the above is still true. That is actually how the MMA works. Ford foes not run around with a team of engineers proving that your lift is what failed. They already spent designing the truck in the first place.

because, just because a dealer installs a lift, does not mean everything would be still covered. Take that lifted truck to a dealer that isnt so friendly towards lifts and see if they treat it in the same manner as a non lifted stock vehicle. All it means is that dealer is more friendly towards lifting.

yes it does. however its fairly easy to determine what items could and could not affected by a lift. Yes some items will have a gray area. but others not so much and easy to fight if they deny.
Many dealers like to use a blanket statement that once one items voids then the entire warranty is nullified

Lifts are pretty easy till you get to ball joints, cv joints, differentials because of larger tires, things of that nature.
Air intakes, programmers, things of that nature are complete puzzles because of the drive train and such.
So yes, the MMA is pretty good for lifts but is damn near useless on other modifications unless you feel like ponying up the money.

it just all depends on what the failure is. but you can pony up quite a bit. Also depends if you are in the small claims court dollar amount or not. I had an issue, lawyer wanted 18k up front and said it would take up to two years to complete, with a probable chance of wining. I thought about it and ended up spending the money on my hemi conversion instead

The best way to go about it is to find a dealer that is lift or mod friendly and have all your service done there. Also to remember just because you are paying a dealer to install a lift, doesnt mean they are actually installing it. A lot of them pay a local off road place to do it. A lot of them use 4wheelparts. So essentially you are paying two places to do the install
