Say what? Are you saying the Italian stuff is the best stuff on the menu? I disagree if that's your point.

Why do you keep doing the "BR>" bit? It's silly.

The point is expectations. Ruffinos can stand out in the BR scene because of what it lacks as a city. To me, it's a tougher crown an hour east or west on I-10.

I've decided I don't like conversing with you. You make me scratch my head too much. So I won't be partaking in this discussion with you anymore.

I said that relative to the two cities that surround it. New Orleans and Lafayette are both outstanding.

Fair enough on Gino's. But the consistency on he Italian dishes at Ruffinos isn't as good as Niño and Gino. I've had pasta come out at a poor consistency and have found the execution to be OK at best on sauces and whatnot.

If I'm going to Ruffino's it's not for Italian dishes. Perhaps the Fish Katie, but that's more of a Lousiana dish to me.

Lafayette is not an outstanding restaurant city. It does a few things very well but it is lacking in variety and higher end dining. Ruffino's will be a valuable addition there.

The idea that Lafayette doesn't enthusiastically support a lot of mediocre restaurants is laughable.

Prepare to be called moronic.

maybe a pizza and a glass of wine or maybe I blow it out with three or four bottles and the dry aged ribeye. Plenty of ways and price points to enjoy it. Take your pick. It's a great atmosphere and they run a good shop. I hope Lafayette will support it.

I'll support that

Have you never eaten in Lafayette before? They have way more to offer than just cajun or creole dishes...

Sure. But your need to constantly compare it to BRs food scene is irrelevant and unnecessary for most threads you interject it in to.

Ruffinos should succeed in almost any mid to major city. It puts out quality food and service at a fair price. The owners are dedicated restauranteurs and appreciate food, wine, and quality. They make an effort and it shows.

You are very sensitive about this, aren't you?

I qualified what I said by saying I lie Ruffino's, which isn't universal on this board, but you jumped me like I insulted your first born.

Very strange and it's the only place that gets this kind of response on this board. Very odd.

Your opinion. It no matter.

Oh. And I jumped on your responses because you posted 3 consecutive posts of bull shite.

But, it wasn't all a loss. I now know I can skip over your posts.

I'm going to the Baton Rouge location tonight. We'll have martinis, wine, braised pork cheeks, cedar plank redfish and 45 day dry aged ribeye. Just trying to stay insulting and moronic by not ordering Italian food.
