I don't see the appeal in hunting any big cat. Or any land predator for that matter. I was watching this hunting show the other day and these guys were in Africa hunting and they were staying at this lodge on a river and while they were sitting there on this deck over the water, a huge croc pulled himself to sun on the bank about 75 yards away. They said "hey looks a croc, lets shoot it" Got out their rifle and shot a completely still, sunning croc. Whats the sport of that?

Depends on what you hunt it with. If you go after one with a Swiss army knife, then you got a Trophy IMO.

Same here.... Killing any kind of big cat like that seems to me to be a waste. Who eats em?

Agree, but I'm not traveling to other continents to hunt copperheads either, they just happen to exist in high population in places I live.

Big cats, griz, etc. I just don't really understand it. I would pay for someone to take me to see them, but I don't want to kill them unless they're causing me a problem.

I hate then so much that I would not rule this out as a possibility.

I'm not into going after fellow apex predators either.

Bobcats and coyotes are about as close as I get.

No snake is a beautiful and majestic creature, brah.

And IMHO, not all creatures have the same value. Killing a lion (threatened species) for thrill is not the same as killing a snake, cockroach or mosquito. Just my opinion...

Its the mystique of killing the king of the jungle. Every year these lions still pick off the occasional human. I didnt think they let you kill them anymore. Last time I saw a hunt they were shooting it with a trank dart and then taking a picture.

Or go watch Ghost in the Darkness

Many times lions are baited with another kill to have them at known spot.

I have a problem with that as well. I just don't see why you want to do that.

Would only kill a lion in self defense. Would not hunt elephants either. I will only hunt and kill things that I will eat...except coyotes.

do you have any issues with hunting deer over corn?

most people that hunt lions probably do so because they don't have the skill or the determination to do something noteworthy, but they would like people to think that they do, so they hire a guide to safely bring them to a lion that they can shoot.
