I love my dog (Cool story warning)

So I was shooting basketball outside in our driveway with my little niece, and my dog (border collie/husky mix) walked over to my truck and started barking a few times and looking at me. I didn't pay much mind to it, because she chases bugs and frogs all the time. Then she barked a really low growl that she only uses when there's danger. I walked over and got a flashlight, and looked under the truck where she was, and there was a huge water moccasin that she had cornered under there.
I grabbed my niece and brought her inside, and grabbed my machete. My dog went around the back side and prevented it from escaping while I did this. I came back, flushed it out, and chopped it's head off. We have to walk right by where the snake was to get inside the house. My niece could have easily been bitten.
My dog is almost 11 now, and she still greets us at the door everyday, acts like a puppy, and gets the paper every morning.
It's sad that she'll be gone someday soon, (vet said to start preparing for her time coming)
Feel free to share your cool dog stories.

I can't top that.
I was driving through memphis and saw a puppy walking down the interstate. I pulled over and picked him up to take him to the pound and just fell in love. I brought him back to bama and we've been best friends for 6 years.
I can honestly say he has been a perfect dog. He hunts with me but is pretty lazy for the most part.

Up until 2-3 months ago, my GSDs slept outside in an enclosure attached to a run. Someone was B&E multiple residences in our small rural community and they alerted me to the intruder and one of them actually helped bring one of the guys down.
Those dogs each have their own bed in our bedroom now. They still get jealous of the schnazuer that sleeps in the bed though
