If you want to get drafted as a top WR in the SEC, come to LSU

Was just reading a post in another thread and seeing something similar like why WRs would ever want to come to LSU and it got me thinking, We are the best in the SEC in putting WRs in the NFL.
This dated article(players only up to 2010) also proves my point.

The year after next we got another in the top 3 (Reuben Randle). Only other teams that did equal or better was UT and USCe.
As a matter of fact LSU would have 2 of the top 10 WRs in the SEC right now if there was an official ranking.

Over the last decade, LSU has established itself as the premier school in the SEC and one of the best in the nation for putting wide receivers into the NFL. Since the 2001 draft, 10 LSU receivers have been selected in the NFL Draft, the highest number for any SEC school over that time period. In addition, seven of those players were selected in the top three rounds of the draft. That number also represents the highest in the league.

LSU's tradition of WR's goes back even further. Eddie Kennison was a first rounder in the 90's, Wendall Davis in the late 80's. Guys like Eric Martin and Carlos Carlson played in the league for a while, I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. I think it speaks to the depth of talent in the state especially when you include guys like Ike Hilliard and Reggie Wayne, who probably would have gone to LSU in later years, that are La HS products.

I think the individual players deserve a little bit of credit as well.

You are correct. I will also add Todd Kinchen who was very underrated.

I couldn't remember if he played in the league or not, but he was a 3rd round pick, actually taken 1 spot earlier than Randle at 60.

Just think what the list would look like if LSU had a real QB.

That's the scary and great part about it. With JJ and Lee we had 2WRs go in the first 3 rounds. Lafell had nearly 1700yds and 19TDs in 2 years and Randle had a 900+yd 8TD year with both throwing to him. If Beckham can hall in those deep passes like he did in the spring game and Leslie can learn the playbook fast enough, we'll have 2 more top 3rd WRs selected.

All of the credit! Everyone of those top round guys would be in the NFL even if they'd gone to SLU.

How could they miss Julio Jones for the Gumps?
