People get shite named after them all the time for donating a lot of money. Especially if their donation is directly tied to the completion of a particular project. Like Swisher's to Ohio St's field.

For example, the Gerry Lane Championship Plaza

While we're naming things, what else could we name for someone?
The Ben McDonald pitching mound?
The Eddy Furniss first base?
The Warren Morris second base?
The Wally Pontiff, Jr. third base. (Gotta have!)

What else?

I seriously doubt Fisher demanded that those "huge" letters be put up as a part of his agreement to fund improvements in the park. He's known to be a pretty standup guy with a great lockeroom personality. And now I know he has a hot wife, which makes me respect him even more. Admittedly, I am a hard core Yankees fans.

Brad Cresse Home Plate?

ETA: Todd Walker 2nd base.

"What's next, the Thornton Melon School of Business?"

Archie and Eli Manning Field at Vaught-Hemingway stadium.
Are there any Football stadiums named in this manner?

Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Park in Miami laughs at that...the whole park is named after him and never played there

Wow! Kind of reminds me of a building called the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Skip is very deserving of a tribute for his contributions, but this just doesn't make sense to me. A thing inside of another thing? Will they name the playing field in Tiger Stadium after Billy Cannon? "Billy Cannon Field in Tiger Stadium"?

In the early 80's I'd take my books, get into the box free with my student ID, and grab a seat anywhere I wanted under the covered area behind home plate. Occasionally I'd look up when I heard the crack of a bat while studying. I could not get my friends to come to a game for anything.

The LEAST they could do is name the field after Skip.

Is the field at Tad Gormley in City Park Stadium still called "Reggie Bush Field"?
