or do you use swivels?

Definitely a double uni when you're mating it with braid.

Palomar knot to swivel then uni knot from swivel to fluoro line

And a very easy one to tie

Don't use a swivel because it makes me keep the entire leader off the end of the rod to cast. A uni knot allows me to cast with some leader inside the loop at the top of the rod. If I'm using a leader which is a couple of feet long this makes a big difference to me because I don't have that fly fishing action.

When I do use a leader, I am not casting for 100% accuracy. I like a swivel because it doesn't get twisted on a hook set or sitting in the surf.
I only use a leader about 10% of the time I fish, unless it us under cork.

Definitely uni to uni. Use less wraps on the leader line. I fish with 30# Power Pro a lot and tie a 15-20lb leader on almost always. I wrap the leader 4 times and the braid 6 times. In 5 years of fishing braid, I have had my uni to uni connection fail once.
If going from a small diameter braid (50lb braid w/ 12lb mono diameter) to a much thicker diameter leader (80lb mono/fluoro), I do a double uni with the braid or tie in a loop first using a bimini twist, etc...

Double uni
This - easy when you get the hang of it and pretty quick knot to tie

There's another one for large size differences I use. I call it the no name, but I don't think that's it. Bulky and a PITA to seat, so I use super glue. But for inshore uni-uni best by far.

Would that be a nail knot? Where you stick a nail or some kher object between the two lines and wrap the smaller line around several times and then pull it back through the middle? Or some complicated shite like that.

Got them mixed up, its the Albright.

I also use the albright t when joining mono to braid. It's a great looking knot once you get it right.

I use uni to uni however I always double the braid.

Depends on how I am fishing. Live bait-swivel
Artificial-a form of the double Uni, it's easier to tie than the double uni. Instead of tieing one line to the other I bend them around each other and then tie a basic hook knot.

This is a pain, but not as much of a pain as my line twisting so I go with a swivel. Works for a weigt stop anyway when carolina fishing and thats the only time I use a leader since Im about fresh water only.

I use a swivel with finesse and trick worms. Not only the twist issue, but I like the tiny bit of weight out in front. And, to get really weird, I halfway think it makes it look like the worm is after a tiny bait fish.
