With all the talk about horrible umpiring in baseball lately, I was wondering if anyone saw this.

Angel Hernandez has to be one of the worst umpires in the game, and this just cements that. Dude should lose his job. He was awful behind the plate the other night too.

How do you look at the replay and still get it wrong? I just don't understand how refs/umps can do that.

Dude refused to have a post game interview too. At least Joyce admitted his obvious mistake in what was a bigger situation.

He's fricking awful, no doubt. I'd add Joe West up there as well.

Angel Hernandez and Joe West are terrible for the game and need to be fired.

Don't they call New York for reviews?

ETA I'm wrong, they have someone in NY provide the replays but it's up to the umpires

wow that pretty bad.

not even sure how the hell he could have missed it looking at a slow mo replay.

its also super spineless of him to dodge the cameras post game.

Angel is the absolute worst. Joyce is actually very good, one astronomical mistake aside.

Balkin Bob is pretty bad as well.

It's mind blowing that West, Bucknor, and Angel are always at the top of the yearly player poll for worst umpire and those frickers still have a job. It must be damn near impossible to get fired unless you get caught fixing games.

How does the whole crew go back there and look at the replay and say its not a home run? I wonder if the other umps looked at angel like he was retarded when he said it wasn't 100% clear. Everybody in the world can see it hit the railing. MLB can't even get replay right.

It seems like year after year Angel Hernandez is behind some of the worst umpiring in the game. Bob Melvin (is that the A's manager?) was right, how in the world did they not see what everyone else in the world saw?

If Alabama was in the field, Mike Slive and Rodgers Redding would have already issued a statement in support of the ruling.

I wonder if Angel Hernandez and Sam Holbrook have the same Vegas contacts as Pete Rose and Tim Donaghy.

Hernandez has the nerve to eject the manager after that call?

A lot of times there is discussion that the umps don't have the same angles that are shown by the broadcast teams. Has anyone ever addressed why they don't have the ability to get those angles when making their calls? It seems like a no brainer that they could feed those angles and shots in as needed if the call was still inconclusive.
