From an interview concerning his view of homosexuality in sports.

quote:

“But I think we need to show love to every single person on this Earth,” he said. “Jesus showed love to everybody, and whether it was Mary Magdalene, who was a prostitute had seven demons inside her, he showed love to her, and he didn’t have a problem with her. “Jesus called on a tax collector, Matthew, to be one of his disciples, and while many Jewish people had a problem with Matthew, Jesus didn’t have a problem with Matthew. What Jesus wanted was for Matthew to grow. “At the end of the day, anybody in our locker room who is struggling with something and isn’t perfect -- which would be everybody in the locker room -- my attitude would be that I want to show love to them in a way that shows them Jesus, and hope that they can encounter the same love that I encountered from Jesus that saved my life.”

He seems to be really devout and open about his religion. Maybe the Tebow'ers have another cheering option, this time a QB who is actually on a roster?

I would rather a person speak about their faith than telling kids your homosexual and it's alright to have relations with guys!

I realize that this is a weak attempt to backhand Tebow, but Cousins' devotion to his faith isn't new.

That's a good quote from him. Seems like he's going about it the right way.

So you think athletes can make someone straight or gay based on their opinions?

I am guessing that Kirk is a west Michigan Dutch reformed. While Kirk is a good kid, they are a little nutso over there. You do even a lick of yard work in some neighborhoods on a Sunday and they are looking at you funny.

No i don't think they can but and I have no problem with what they do. Just like I don't want someone on TV talking about cheating on their wives, or how wasted they get on the weekends, etc.

Truly that is the was Christians should look at homosexuals. You don't have to condone it but you shouldn't hate them.

Agreed. And ive never talked to a Christian that does hate homos, we just hate homosexuality being forced on us and our kids as an acceptable alternative lifestyle.

Maybe I hate that Christianity is forced on my child by people like you as an acceptable lifestyle.

FIFY. I'm a Christian and have no problem with it whatsoever and don't think it's a sin.

ETA: I love how Cousins went about this, however.

But it is an acceptable alternative lifestyle. Are people against gay marriage so insecure that they think because gay people are on tv and movies and radio that it will turn their children gay? No one is saying you have to be gay, so I don't understand why people get so uncomfortable about the issue
