IMO that puts it around the same level as a Kahr P380, but with a single-action trigger. I like it!
But I bet it's still gonna be expensive, although you do get what you pay for because it's a Colt.

better than lady's carry pistol

I guess if you really like carrying the mustang but would like it to be lighter then this fits your bill. Still a hard pistol to hit with, a decent amount of recoil due to a really light gun, a questionably effective round, and a terrible capacity. And you're going to pay colt money.

Not really a fan of the 9mm short, but I like the implications here... Poly Pony 1911 on the horizon??? hmmmmmm....

The comparison would be with the p238 (.380) not the 938 (9mm). Colt's aluminum frame Pocketlite Mustang 380 is already about 2 oz lighter than the 238 - 12.5 vs 15.2 - so I am curious how much the polymer shaves off that.
I'm not sure why they had to make it so ugly though. The square trigger guard and half-arse accessory rail (?) sure screw up the Mustang's normally good ergonomics. One of the advantages the Mustang had over the 238 was that it was rounded off and good looking.

938 was the first one that came to mind when I thought "mini" 1911's. Interesting option for cc

I like the SA but how does the size compare to an LCP and LCR?

Interesting points. I didn't realize there was that big of a weight difference.
But I did already know that Sig took Colt's patent when it ran out. You can literally take the slide from a Colt Mustang and stick it on a P238. Aside from aesthetics, they are identical.

I'm thinking they had to do some redesigning on the inside to accommodate for the polymer frame. If you look at the internals of polymer-framed handguns, the slide still rides on metal. To create these inserts, they may have had to make the frame a bit bulkier.

Interesting to some I'm sure, but not me. First, a 380 is my concealed carry caliber of last resort. Second, I only pocket carry 380's; if I can carry the gun IWB, it'll be a 9mm instead of 380. Third, I'm have safety concerns and worry about snagging on the draw when carrying a single action cocked and locked in a pocket. Neverthelss, if the gun is a quality piece, I bet it'll sell well.

Excellent post.
I am plagiarizing and sending to Guns & Ammo.
