Did about 40 miles of the Natchez Trace yesterday

First time ever on a scenic highway. We started in jackson and drove about 40 miles then turned around and stopped at each stop on the way back. Not going to lie, the stops were a huge letdown. I guess I was expecting more trails, which I now realize was dumb considering its a scenic HIGHWAY. But once I accepted it I had a great time. It had rained all day the day before and it was still wet on the ground but it gave everything a shine, which was beautiful. Only complaint I have is that the trailheads were next to impossible to find... they were hidden off to the side. Other than that I had fun.
Here are some pics, my camera on my phone doesn't do it justice. It was beautiful.

History books say raft down river. Sell the raft for lumber and walk north on the Trace.
You remember them days Geauxt?

I used to live in Pollock, LA where the Trace starts. I've never done it either. Those pics are awesome. Thank you

Y'all be careful and watch out for cyclists. A family friend of ours was killed a couple years ago when he was hit by a young driver not paying attention to the road.

I've driven down from Jackson to Natchez on the trace. It's a gorgeous drive. We began by stopping at every marker, but after a while you realize some of them aren't much. The Indian mound and the stop that does have a little trail, which leads to an old cemetery is cool.
One day I'd like to do the whole way up to Nashville. I bet it gets really pretty the further North you go.

Must be another Natchez Trace. The one he's talking about starts in Natchez and ends up around Nashville.
The Natchez Trace linked up with the Harrisonburg Road/El Camino Real, on the other side of the River. It went all the say to San Antonio, and thence to Mexico City.
