Beer selection in Houston/Kingwood.

I was in Conroe for work yesterday. I stopped in at Spec's to look at their beer selection.
I'm going to Kingwood in a few weeks for a wedding, and had planned on buying some stuff to bring back, since I'm driving.
Spec's told me that they don't do "build your own six pack." Is that true for all locations? If so, can anyone recommend somewhere on that north eastern side of Houston where I can build my own six pack.

where I can build my own six pack
Central Market, HEB version of Whole Foods, will be your best option

That's odd. The damn Kroger in the Heights lets you build your own six pack.

HEB has build your own but the selection isn't the greatest.

The HEB in Kingwood is ok, and the one down West Lake Houston in Atascocita is better. Both let you build a six pack.

Maybe I'll build what I can at HEB, and get some other stuff at Spec's.
Any other suggestions?

exactly what I do
There is a new liquor store in Humble just west of the mall on 1960, and you may find a couple things there that Specs doesn't have. Called Goody's or something. It's in an old Academy building.
The Specs on 1960 in Atascocita is better than the one in Kingwood.
You can also run over to Specs Midtown for the best selection, will take about 30 minutes from Kingwood if traffic isn't bad
I generally have good luck at the Specs in Beaumont as well.

Scale up brah, build your own case and buy 4 6-packs.

LoneStar has given you good info. The Kroger grocery store on Northpark and West Lake Houston Pkwy in Kingwood also has a surprisingly good selection for building your own six pack.

If I buy too much, Mrs. Sheep will make me put all that shite (and myself) on a Greyhound to get it back home.

Nobody. I just find it odd that Specs won't do it but a grocery store will.

If you ever find yourself in The Woodlands, Trader Joe's will let you break six-packs and buy singles, and they usually have a few local Texas brews
