Harper has a place, but not at the price he's being paid. We know he can't cover worth a shite, but he plays very well inside the box, basically acting as a rover.
CB: Lewis/Greer/Jenkins (nickel)/Robinson/White (could also act as a Safety)
S:Harper Vaccaro (who can also slide into the nickel spot)/IAQ/Jenkins
Ryan could get creative with these guys and use them to their strengths.
This backfield unit could work fairly well in the 3-4 scheme. Lewis and Vaccaro are much more physical than what we've previously had. I think it will all come down to how well the pass rush works honestly, but I am confident Rob Ryan will get pressure, especially in a 3-4 where it's easier.

Our defense sucks giant donkey balls. If we had 9 new starters I would not complain.

So..... You waited on Malcolm?

This guy is better than both Robinson and Jenkins...
Greer, Lewis, and Corey White should be our top 3 corners
If Jenkins can't cover TEs, I DEFINITELY don't want him anywhere near a WR. Especially not a slot receiver where he can get torched in either direction

Jenkins is great in bump and run coverage where he can be physical with the receiver. He's poor in zone and off coverage where he has to react to the receiver.
This is why he is great as a nickel back but poor as a safety. He lacks speed to stick to speed receivers so he wouldn't be as effective on the outside.
As long as you're not asking him to cover a fast TE he'll do fine there also.

Instead of moving that racist, no-tipping a-hole to nickelback, let's just move him to another team in exchange for a fricking washing machine or a sandwich or something remotely useful.
Did I miss something?

HAH! Did I call it or did I call it? Thanks for listening Mickey, I'm open all week.

Jenkins at his best was his rookie year as our 4th cornerback behind Greer, Porter, and Gay. And as a special teams ace.

Malcolm seems to be a pretty alright dude imo

He actually moved in front of Gay (think by mid season) and it started clicking for him. Maybe great is pretty strong but he was good in bump coverage.

So what happens to Robinson? I'd rather Robinson at nickel over Jenkins any day
Malcolm Jenkins would be better at nickel.

Malcolm is here to stay brah

I forgot he actually started 6 games at CB his rookie year because of injuries to Greer and Porter. I guess he did do okay on the outside. Still like him more as a big nickel that can neutralize small slot guys though.

I don't remember him doing that well on the outside. In fact I remember him getting beat on the outside by some of the faster receivers.

What does that have to do with anything?
Robinson was our nickel guy until last year really. Greer and Porter were always 1&2. If you're talking about putting Jenkins at nickel, you're obviously bumping Robinson off the field in that formation. So what do you do with Robinson when your 1&2 is now Greer and Lewis?
