Todd Mcshay and Bill Polian talked about players coming into the draft with the limos suits and tv and get drafted. Then they show up to their teams with a sense of entitlement...Mcshay says "the biggest problem is media and setting them up for failure." WOW respect for Mcshay! Polian says media also helps to get more information in this day in age as well as seeking out a guy's character.

I call bullshite. If they let a suit and limo ride give them a sense of entitlement such that they don't work hard when they arrive at camp, those players had character flaws to begin. Plus, its usually less than 10 or so guys who go the draft anyway.

You should of heard Jaws going off about that the other day. In the $2000 suits, riding in limos, flying places on team private jets. Show up and think they are the shite and are entitled to things, when in reality they are bottom of the totem pole and are competiting against grown men for their jobs when they have a wife, kids, and have been here before. He really went off on the sense of entitlement these kids get from the draft.

I wore a suit and rode limos to high school dances. I don't feel bad for athletes getting spoon fed their entire life and don't know how to handle millions of dollars.

ESPN is a huge fail in itself.

Has been for the last 10 years. They've gotten so big that they think they are entitled to generate their own stories.

Here's just example we're all familiar with:

Eh, we are all enablers the way we go crazy for players starting in high school, through National Signing Day, their college careers, combines, the draft, etc.

It takes a strong person to stay humble with people kissing their arse constantly and it isn't surprising a lot of these kids have an over-inflated idea of themselves.

The NFL is the highest level of competition these guys will ever face. They either rise to the occasion or fall. Hell, being a backup punter in the league is still much much better than most jobs. All you need to do is work hard (like everything else in life) and stay out of trouble (like everyone else must do in life). We put these guys on a pedestal from the time they are 13-14. After that, every possible advantage is given to them: free education, coaching, exposure. I can't feel bad for a guy for failing in the NFL. Too many guys willing to do what's necessary, sometimes at a disadvantage whether its coming from a small school or someone lacking the god-given natural ability some of these 1st rounders have.

Worse than that Miles horseshite is the way thy fueled the witch hunt on the Saints with the bounty stuff and later many of their guys actually changed their minds and had the Saints back. Not to mention the "spying" they reported that turned out to be bullshite as well.

frick ESPiN.

The athletes are treated that way from at least high school on. So i would say there are more to blame for the athletes since of entitlement than just the media.

The media isn't sending them to the draft in limos. The media isnt giving the an undeserved since of entitlement bthesevathletes got that the second people started kissing their assesbin 7th grade just becausebthevwere good at football.

I'm no fan of ESPN or the media, but thevattitudebof these athletes is far from the cult of a sports network.

All 1st round draft picks should be handled the same way Sean Payton handled Reggie Bush.

PP7 rode in the limos, wore the fancy suits, was gushed over by the media and then turned off the hype and turned on the hard work at training camp. I was happy for him that he got all the attention and even happier that he didn't let it change his work ethic.
