Reading an article on Walterfootball about head scout for the Texans Mike Martin. He was the one who convinced the Texans to sign Arian Foster, and stole him from...........

Your New Orleans Saints
In the article it says Foster was heavily wanted by the Saints, and the Texans convinced him sign with them.

Imagine the backfield of
PT
Bush
Bell
Foster

Now in 2009 Foster was signed to the PS and called up on Nov 17 and played the rest of the season. In all likely hood he probably would have became a major player in 2010 when Pierre and Reggie got hurt and we had to sign Ladell Betts, and Julius Jones. We then never hear of Chris Ivory and draft Mark Ingram.

I remember one of the local guys reporting that we signed him (obviously it wasn't a huge deal at the time), and there being a lot of confusion over if we had him or the Texans did.

This isnt the first time something like this has happened, and it wont be the last. The same thing happened with Pierre if you recall when he signed with the Saints instead of the Dolphins.

He's had a great few years but I truly think it has a good bit to do with the system they run. Pretty much anyone they've plugged in has had a good bit of success over the last few years.

And with the new rules they won't be able to run that bs cut blocking any more. That was a change that will actually help with player safety as many guys had their knees torn up from cut blocks.
