Just heard from a family member at the hospital and the surgery was a success. The cancer was contained to the tongue and did not require a graft. They said it was the best possible scenario.

Everything went as good as expected. Still has a breathing tube which is a good thing. The tube means there wasn't enough swelling to need a tracheotomy (sp) He will stay in ICU as long as the breathing tube is in. This was a best case scenario!
