This is my 80 pound American bulldog. Free from Craigslist. No one comes near the house.

germans shep or curr I have had both The shep was very territorial and loyal. the Curr could whip anything that messed with him. He was trained to drop a bull by biting him in the nose!

Very protective

My suggestion as well. No one will come near your yard, much less your house without an invite.

German Shepard by far. I have labs now but grew up with shepards, best guard dogs in the book.

I agree with a lot of people that have recommended German Shepherds...such wonderful, intelligent dogs. I also love Black Russian Terriers, but they're still pretty hard to find.

Lab. Srsly. All you want is one to make noise and a lab has that under control.

Really, any dog will work. Black folks are scared shitless of dogs. Even the little ones.

Not only will they alert you to trespassers, snakes, uncollared dogs and so on, they will eat every tick within 5 miles. You can also eat their eggs.

Yeah, I had one of these. The ATF didn't think it was too damn funny. They were OK with the lab however.
