You do realize that they don't come from Germany anymore, right?

Actually...

I know a breeder. She hand picks her dogs in Germany and flies them over.

I was actually looking at a red lab over there. The pics were a perfect mix of an American and English lab. I guess it would be called German, who knows. They looked and performed damn well from what I saw.

Unfortunately, I had no idea wtf the website said because it was in German. Parents showed up with my dude before I finished that section of Rosetta Stone.

There is no reason they need to come from Germany other than to say they are from there. Bloodlines diluted and whatnot. Same quality can be had all over the world

I got a Cane Corso in December and he is an amazing watch dog. At only 5 months old he is huge, mean looking and has a zero tolerance for bullshite. I have 3 young children and he is GREAT with them. Oh and the FedEx dude about fricked up the other day, luckily I was outside lol

Belgium Malinois

ETA: I see a bunch of people saying they are hyper as I read through here.. Never had a problem with that with both of mine. One was from a local sheriff's K-9 litter, the males were all trained and the females were free to a good home, the other from a excellent breeder in Oklahoma.

When I think of hyper I think of golden retrievers and border collies

Apparently her customers make a big deal about having genuine German dogs. Rich/dumb people problems.

I personally hate the German ones and wouldn't pay a dollar for one. Their back legs are all dicked up.

My 2 1/2 yr old male lets me know if anything goes bump in the night and loves to play with my kids and the neighbors kids. If you own one of these dogs you had better not be lazy though. Be prepared to get 10 - 20 miles of road work in a week or just accept that you will have a 100 lb muscle bouncing off the walls for the next 5 - 8 years
.

This is spot on. We've got a two year old female.

Does not look like a dog that would do well in the heat. Can you tell us more about its tolerance to high humidity and 90 degree plus temps?
