My first crappie/white perch

Never caught one of these before. I was told that this one is a very nice size one. What is the correct term? I've always heard crappie but the guy I was with was calling them white perch

Sacaulait.
Crappie is correct term. Sacaulait is the Cajun term. White perch is what CENLA and NLA call them (but it technically is not a white perch).
