Who do you prefer and why?
I like the imperial pale ale from green flash, but the Smoked Porter and Ruination make Stone the more appealing brewery IMO.

As a whole, I think I've gotta go with Green Flash. I enjoy Stone's Vertical Epic series the most, but I like Green Flash's overall products more than Stone.

Put me down for Stone. I don't think we get to taste their freshest product and the beer is still good. I've had several GF's and never bought them twice.

Stone
Their IPA defines the west coast IPA style, and ruination is a fantastic IIPA
Their RIS is much better than GF's double stout
Their Belgian IPAs are better
basically, I cant think of a single style that GF does better than Stone, and I'm a big GF fan

I'd give a slight edge to stone. Hopefully we'll be seeing gf in ms soon

It comes down to which is fresher.
I'm a big fan of hop head red.

I give it to Stone, but both are very good breweries. They both made final 4 of our brewery tourney, right?

West Coast IPA >>>> Stone IPA
Imperial IPA >>>> Ruination
Rayon Vert>>>>>> Any Stone Belgian I've had
Palate Wrecker>>>>>>> Any Stone hop bomb
Tripel>>>>>>does stone make a tripel????
Black IPA>>>>>>> SSR
Hop Head Red>>>>> Stone Arrogant Bastard
Green Flash/ St Fullien Bière De L’Amitié better than any Stone collaboration.
I'm always disappointed in Stone beers. I had a Stone 13th anniversary Red IPA that was very good.

I agree. I like both lineups, but we don't seem to get fresh bottles from either brewery here in BR. I seem to buy GF more that Stone though, so I give the slight edge to GF.

Wow, i actually agree with zappa for once.
Gf's regular lineup in better imo, but stones one offs/collabs(which we dont get) are usually very good.

Pretty much.
Plus, it costs you the same, at least here in Atlanta, for a 4 pack of GF vs a 6 pack Stone.

How does it feel to be correct for once?

Yep:

FTR, I voted GF over Stone.
Eta: I buy more SN that either BC with seasonals, you know how old they are. We always get fresh celebration, ruthless, estate, hemisphere, etc.
Can't really say that about the other two (one exception, stone anniversary)

I've never been overly impressed by Stone. It isn't bad, but at that price point, I can think of a score of breweries I would prefer.

The levitation ale is the only Stone I'm not a fan of.

Isn't this like trying to say who is hotter, Halle Berry or Jessica Alba? It all comes down to personal taste.
I have been to a brewery and thought a beer was the best I'd ever had and then on another occasion thought that it was only "pretty good". I think other factors, such as freshness of the beer, weather, how thirsty we are, our mood, and even what we've been eating affect the way a beer tastes to us.
So who is going to turn down a beer from either of these fine companies?
