Any fans of their early stuff? I was getting back into it today and their first 3 albums are damn good.
Everything after Dookie, not so much.

Used to love their old stuff...then they began to suck...BADLY. Can't stand them anymore.

I like some of their newer stuff. I don't get why so many people hate it

I really liked Kerplunk when it came out... that whole Lookout /East Bay scene was kinda fun... Op Ivy, Screeching Weasel, etc..
They def lost their appeal over the years, but there is way worse music out there...
I think that record Warning, is actually pretty good... very Kinksy... I kinda stumbled on to it 10 years after the fact..

was a huge fan in middle school
can't really get myself to listen to the recent trio of albums, but I never got the hate for their post-Dookie stuff
Warning and Nimrod is the tits. Warning is one of those albums that grows on you as you age. It's not very early 90s Green Day, but it's just good music.
I think I still have the 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk! cassettes somewhere around here

Everything before warning was solid

That "Dookie" cd was pretty good.

i saw them at one eyed jacks a few years ago playing as their foxboro hot tubs project and that was a ton of fun.... the music was certainly not my usual cup of tea, or what you would expect from them.

My love for Op Ivy knows no bounds. I really don't understand Green Day hate from old timers (of which I include myself). It's not like they radically changed their sound or anything. and hell, American Idiot is practically a Husker Du tribute album, and it is close to the ideals of the Gilman Street scene.
I mean, I love Slappy as much as the next guy, but I don't see why that means why I have to dislike Geek Stink Breath. Green Day didn't really change... you did. Which is good, actually, but don't blame them for it.
OK, their last album(s) sucked, but so did Screeching Weasel and NOFX's, and no one thinks that invalidates their career. And Ben Weasel is a FAR bigger a-hole.

Green Day is better now than they've ever been

I had no idea there was an album before Dookie. I liked Dookie, Imsomniac and Nimrod. My favorite is Dookie.

No doubt... Thats why I have never hated them...
I will say, right or wrong, in the mid-late 90s, when your 12 yr old cousin has their poster on the wall next to a Back Street Boys one... Lets say it was depressing...

agree with all of this actually. Hell I even like American Idiot and the other newer album. The trio sucked hard though.
