Who knew Red Velvet cake pissed people off so much?

Evidently several people would like the world to boycott the sham known as Red Velvet cake.

What dessert pisses you off?

I present to you, the fig newton.

Taste like balsa wood with congealed sawdust mixed with a small amount of fruit.

For good measure, I'll toss these worthless things in the mix....

Vent your rage at your least favorite dessert.

Sweet snacks, desserts whatever you want to call them. Yes, I have seen people stick Milanos out as a dessert.

A friend's mom used to stick out the newtons after lunch.

I see the Red Velvet thread still has you full of piss and vinegar.

I like to label things using the appropriate term.

Okay. Still not dessert, IMO.

Not really. Just the bastardization of the English language and the overly-broad categorization of things as suitable foodstuffs annoys me.

Oh HELL NO!!

We gonna have a problem if you leave those Milano's up.

Put up bread pudding instead. Had it, never wanted it, soggy arse bread in sugary milk. It's like uncooked French toast.

Hey jackwagon

Dessert is the usually sweet course that concludes a meal.

Plenty of people stick out cookies to end a meal. You really are in a pissy mood today. Or I should say pissier than normal.

I'm not a fan of most of the desserts I see on New Orleans restaurants menus. Bread pudding, creme brulee, bananas foster, flan.. I just can't get into any of those.

While we're venting, I hate sugary things. If I'm eating a sweet, I want it to be cinnamon-spiced-nutty type things.

King cake (not too much icing), cinnamon rolls, ginger snaps, a nutty/coffe flavored creme brulee, etc.

I can't do a birthday cake.. or one of those god awful cookies they sell at WalMart/WinnDixie/etc.

Chocolate is hit or miss. A hot/lava type chocolate cake (preferable with fruit/fruit reduction) is good.. but a regular chocolate cake with chocolate icing

If I crave a sweet, a couple bites is usually enough for me.

I feel like I'm not a female :(

See, I like those types of things. Sweet.. but not TOO sweet.

Myth, when someone says for instance: "what's your favorite dessert?" Do you assume they're talking about pies, cakes, cobblers, etc? Or do you assume they're talking about factory-made, packaged cookies you buy at Walmart?

I'm with you on all but bananas foster. Not something I think to order everytime, but good change of pace.

Panna Cotta should be served more.

I'm actually not a fan of the cookie cake. My mom gets those all the time for birthdays and has been doing that for 20 years.

another gelatinous dessert I don't care for.

I'm like LL, I'm not a big sweets guy to begin with. Pie is by far my favorite type of dessert. Followed by sorbet.

Not a fan either.

I don't "hate" any of these things I'm listing, per se. I'll try them and be fine if need be. I just feel my head spinning and can barely continue eating after a couple bites.

Hey Rohan, my thread thus my freaking connotation.

You can put whatever you want. I put what I don't like.

100% agree with every bit of that.

And not a chocolate pie or anything like that. Something with fruity goodness inside.

ETA: And cobbler, although that is pretty much pie

Without the milk you risk choking.
