1) I don't think I've ever met a craft beer enthusiast who drinks craft beer because it's "bucking the mainstream." They drink it because the taste appeals to them.
2) I agree with you about the people who buy macrobrews owned by BMC and think they're doing something special, but there are an abundance of independently owned microbreweries that get a lot of acclaim (and for good reason) that have absolutely nothing to do with BMC.
