yeah i know it's just a game....

the coach has them too close to the tee, and too far in front of the ball. so basically they're getting half power (since no wrist involvement) and then hitting it to 1st or 2nd every hit.

6year olds....

i hate to sound like the overzealous dad on the field, but dont' teach my kid a bad habit either....

It's Tee-ball, dude. Don't say anything and just enjoy spending time watching your kid learn the game.

You could ask him what the reason is that he has them hit the ball back in their stance. And when he doesn't have a good answer mention that maybe he should teach them to hit the ball in front of their body like you do a moving ball

Do you have time to take over coaching duties? I played baseball through college and still remember all of the players' dads over the years. Every single one of them knew more about baseball than the next dickhead did.

All of them were plant workers, computer techs, teachers, dorks, etc. I don't know how I'm going to be when my son wants to play baseball. I damn sure don't want to coach, but can't decide if I'm going to get pissed at the coach or other parents more.

and actually this other guy said something to the coach about the stance, and he barked back that this is how he taught them the last practice on Monday (the first).

i'm not a pro, but that's just common sense.

Just go over it with your kid at home. Then make his arse run poles to get that lactic acid flowing after playing catch.

Yeah, that seems awkward to have a coach teaching wrong no matter what level it is at.

I know it's just t-ball, but if this guy can't even teach the most basic things right, then it's obvious he has no idea what he's doing.

And it's not like he is wrong about the intricacies of the swing... he's blatantly wrong about the basic swing.

Tough call.

They didn't even keep score when I played tee-ball. You guys are dumb if you think he should speak up. Save that for little league, when he's not using a rubber tee, obviously.

Just teach him the right way at home and tell him to do what you taught him.

This. I'm taking the same stance my dad did. "I'm not the coach and its not my job to tell him what to do."

Daddy ball is one of the main reasons I started hating baseball before getting to high school ball.

Parents just need to shut the frick up. If they want a say, they should've signed up to be the coach.

Remove him from T-ball and send him to a Venezuelan youth baseball academy.

They're usually in the slums but the food is cheap and you can feel confident he's on the right track to the show.
