When I lived in STL I used to go to the one in the Central West End. It was a fine place, nothing special.

That is an impressively long list of bad beer. You'd think on a list that long, a single good beer would have snuck in.

Chain bars are a weird idea to me.

Some can be pulled off... Flying Saucer does a good job. In general though, they are almost always disappointing.

Been to the one in The Woodlands quite a few times. Overall the food is really good for bar food. However, the on tap beer selection is pretty generic.

One time I was there with 2 other guys around dinner time. Well, on Wed. nights they run this special where they have sliders for like a buck a piece. So the other two guys I was with each ordered 5 and I ordered 2 because I wasn't that hungry (and said so to the waitress).

About fifteen minutes go by and I see the ENTIRE kitchen staff coming out the with burgers. Our dumb arse waitress thought we ordered the regular half pound burgers that also came with fries! Now, we were also sitting at a little round bar table that our drinks barely fit on so the staff is just standing around us with 10 huge arse burgers and 10 orders of fries trying to figure out what to do. I just look at the poor waitress and say "seriously"?

They charged us slider prices for the burgers.

This is the hot spot in the town I'm from in Tennessee. It won't (or it shouldn't) impress Louisianians. Food is bland and nothing special. However, the alcohol selection is pretty good and it is a decent place to hang out at night I guess.

But if Portico and Red Lobster can survive here, then Bar Louie may have a shot
