Do you have a common name? This causes most problems in delays. If you always get delayed get a UPIN to speed up the process.
I'm an FFL holder and do lots of NICs for guys with twics and have no problem.

Doesn't make sense.
Because you have increased security clearance the FBI has to check even more???
You already got checked like a mutha to get the card.
I've never heard of this.

Have another individual with my exact name first and last who lives in same parish. Apparently he has been in trouble with the law and doesn't pay his bills. I used to get numerous bill collectors calling my home. Possibly the reason?

Yep! I would bet it. Get a UPIN. It's not hard to get and saves a lot of trouble.
Twic and Nics are two different divisions.

Anyone know the difference between the TWIC and a DoD clearance? Have had the DoD forever and never had a problem.

TWIC is port related. That's all I know. If you got a port need a TWIC.

I used to hold a top secret clearance and i always get delayed. however, i've been told several times that the clearance wont cause a delay.

Never been delayed. I have a TWIC and other levels of clearance for restricted plants, refineries, and pipelines.

I have a TWIC and i bought a M&P shield last month and there was a 10-15 minute longer wait when calling it in but i doubt it was becuase of the TWIC.

i have been having a TWIC card since they were required. Haven't been dealyed yet, and I've bought 8 or 10 firearms since I got my TWIC card.
