We actually named the third cove out of Carrice after me because one year I caught 30 bass on a Senko while the other boat couldn't catch a fish on the same worm.

It was funny to me but they weren't laughing.

Never been to Toledo Bend, is there multiple public landings or just one main landing?

We've been hammering them on the weekends in the 14-16" range in about 2-4 feet of water for almost a solid month now. Most of that was on the Texas side (Back of Housen and Lowe's) and probably 90% of them on chartreuse and white humdingers.

I would imagine one could catch bigger fish that are staged out. We've caught some 3-4 pounders but vast majority have been around 2. Although my dad went with one of his buddies about three weeks ago for three days and they caught four fish in the 5-7 pound range.

Headed there this weekend . Was there pre-fishing for buddy's tourney this weekend and mine next. Damn wind blew all weekend . Didnt do much for patterning them as we caught from 6" of water to 22 ft. On plastics to spinners to crankbaits to traps.

as far as the 15 ft boat, there are launches all over the lake and all are open since the water is normal. this time of year you can drop the TM and start fishing from the ramp. you probably shouldnt cross the lake if the wind is blowing (as it is supposed to all weekend) that place can get bad in a hurry.

Good luck

Us too...we caught 7 fish and 6 were caught in a cove where the shad were going crazy. Friend at Toledo caught 18 Sat and 0 Sunday.
It sucked for everyone.
2 days after a front and a bluebird day.
Have to find thick grass or trees were they hide, or a million shad like we did.

Tons of landings ...some cost $5 to launch.

Me and my son will be fishing the Texas Oilmans I'm gonna go down and fish the whole week before it.

Pretty much have a plan in my mind although the wind could change it all but I have a few back up plans.

We killed them 3 years ago this time of the year. I just hope the water temp stays the same or slightly warmer.
