Biggest reason why Chicago's bid failed is because the Olympics have never been held in South America. They were due

Chicago is the perfect city for an American Olympics.

Honestly, if NO had a rail transit system, I could see them being able to host.

Superdome would be almost 50 years old by that point. The new Olympic Stadium could be designed as its replacement.

No offense to New Orleans but I don't consider it a very international, world-class city. But then again, neither was Atlanta in 1996. Either way, it would be pretty stupefying for another city from the south to host the Olympics before New York City or Chicago.

Olympics need a ton of venues beside Olympic Stadium. We've got nowhere to put all that stuff and they aren't building it. If they did, a ton of Louisiana politicians will be getting rich skimming off the top.

well if you build a new stadium you have that...you have that, the superdome, wherever the Hornets play, Tiger Stadium, whatever stadiums UNO, Tulane, etc have...don't need a baseball stadium anymore so you're set there not that farfetched...ATL also had smaller sports at Clark-Atlanta U and whatnot
