How young do they start them?
4th grade or 10 years old is the minimum age to be in 4-H. In order to compete at the events you have to have hunter's safety and a minimum of 8 hours practice under a certified instructor

In my parish (WBR) we usually meet once a week for a couple hours mainly on sundays, but that's because the LSU range we use has to have a LSU police officer present at our practices. If I remember correctly EBR has a portion of land donated to them that they use for practices near Zachary. I'm not sure what their schedule is like.

where does LSU have a range?
Posted on 2/19/13 at 8:58 pm to mack the knife
They have a police range in St. Gabriel behind the research station there. It's not open to the public. We get to use it because 4-H is part of the LSU Agcenter.

I didn't realize that was where EBR shot. I think that's where AP practiced a bunch as well.
