Meet me at the Whitney on Perkins across from Kenilworth at noon.

I'm in the green Eddie Bauer Expedition.

Easily my least favorite experience at a BR restaurant. I've been the NOLA one and the old BR one, and had pretty good experiences. But I went for brunch about a week ago, walked in at 11AM (opening time), and they told me their dining room was reserved for reservations and we could only sit in the bar. There were like 2 couples in the dining room out of about 75 tables. I asked when they would next have a table availability and they said "2PM".

It was absolutely ridiculous. I will never go there again and have already stopped 3 groups of my friends from going.

End rant.

Why even open the doors at that time then?

I was livid. I called, too, at 10:30, asking what time they would be open and they said 11. Why didn't they say, "11, but we don't have any availabilities until 2" ?

well if your least favorite experience at a restaurant is being told they don't have any tables available, you done lived ok.

You asked the hostess(who might've been busy getting ready for shift), "what time do y'all open"? And she told you the right time, but it's her fault that you didn't ask if they had any availability and you assumed she knew you wanted a table that day and not tomorrow or next week?

Sounds like you failed.

I bet if you walked in that restaurant 30-45 minutes later it would've been packed. Not many people go out to eat at 11:00. They can't seat you and hope you get up in 30 minutes so that the people who made reservations can get their table.

Sounds like your response to them taking reservations is ridiculous.

Relax . Little over the top here.

I tend to agree with this assessment. Lilly, did you expect them to seat you in someone else's reservation because they weren't there yet?

As far as the noise and slow service, I'll be at a n 8-top at Galatoire's Saturday night, will be back with full report Monday morning.

When I asked the waiter what my bourbon choices were, his first response was Crown Royal.

This reminds me of a story.

One Christmas Eve when I still had a lot of family in Nola, my brother and I wandered into a nearly deserted French Quarter (one of the few days out of the year when the Quarter is dead) looking for a drink (I had family living walking distance). Most places were closed, but we wandered into an Irish Pub -- I think it was Kerry -- and I ordered a Bushmill's and he ordered a Crown-and-7.

The bartender brought us two Bushmills, neat. My brother was like "What is this?" I encouraged him to drink it -- Irish pub, Irish whiskey and all that -- and he did (he wasn't unfamiliar with Bushmills after all).

When he was done, he called the bartender over and said "Thanks for the Bushmills, I'll have my Crown-and-7 now."

Bartender brought him a Bushmills, neat. "I'm doing you a favor. Merry Christmas." he said.

True story.

Well Uncle Rico you got me. Guess I should have said Highland area. What names did I drop? George? Yep that's name dropping. Must have picked that up in one of the hundred articles I've read with him involved.

I guess your Mary Kay appointment got cancelled this morning. Or did you remember the address because you washed dishes there? And you didn't even win the bet. Gris Gris snaked your arse. Boy, it must really, really suck to be you.

Meatloaf you say things I've never heard a grown man say. In life some people are funny and some are not. You are not. You come across as a angry fat know it all. You told me you dress like a rock star, which is another example of something I've never heard a man say. The only fat rock star I could think of is meatloaf. Well there is kc from the sunshine band. But the thought of someone looking like meatloaf, eating meatloaf at the fairway view makes me laugh. I hope you like your new nickname.
