So for examples... are these chains?

Coyote Blues
Acme Oyster House
Izzos
Rotolos

I mean obviously you look at Chilis, Outback, Bonefish, Olive Garden, etc and know it's a national chain, when you look at something that started local to you when does it make that jump to being a "chain restaurant"?

I didn't know that either. And TBH it's from WikiPedia so take it with a Taceaux Loceaux sized grain of salt.

yeah I saw that definition on wiki before I posted, just curious if there was a consensus opinion on here.

Are they going to have food other than the Curbside burgers?

I was in there opening night and was able to snap a couple pics of the menu. I believe they're expanding to the full menu after Mardi Gras.

Also, I'm pretty sure Al from Avenue Pub is working there now. Solid bartender.

ha, looking at the old thread, R2R already saw the menu and commented on the "sammiches".

Talked to Al on Friday and he said he's working on getting better and more rotating taps in there.

How the hell did this bar already get labeled #22 of NOLA's douchiest bars if it's not even open yet?

quote:

22. Barcadia
Address: 601 Tchoupitoulas St.
Website: barcadianeworleans.com/
One of the signature characteristics of the douche genus is a tendency to act like an overgrown manchild. Whether it's petulant behavior when they don't get their way or the need for constant attention, the douche will often revert to his childhood self. So, when a bar opens in an insufferable neighborhood and its website's homepage reads "Inner child, meet BARCADIA" you know it's fricked. Touting "50's pin-up girls on the walls, the Cure playing in the background, JENGA made out of 2x4's on the patio, and an entire wall of '80s ARCADE GAMES...", Barcadia would seem to occupy its own special ring of hell. We don't know who other than the worst of the worst would hang there, except maybe, given the chance, their children. Even then, they'd probably find it abhorrent. We'd rather go to Chuck E. Cheese. At least there, infantile antics aren't fueled by skunked tap beer. We're sure that "Boys Don't Cry" is the most commonly heard Cure track at this douche playpen. The Cure? Really?

I tried to go on Friday and it was closed and was thinking wtf. I know they had a lot going on this weekend but still struck me as really odd.

We walked by Barcadia on Saturday but it appeared to be closed.

Yea, that list sucks. I decided I had to go check out Saints & Sinners just because of that list. I was surprised how nice it was and the food menu looked good.

It was later than that. I couldn't tell you how late but we were at the Beachcorner at some point shortly after.

So what the hell is Curbside? I googled and apparently it's a B.R. thing? I've seen it mentioned before. Is it actually good or is it one of those things like Johnny's Pizza, etc? Honest question.
