UT is not releasing the gender of the student. They are referring to the student as John Doe

He's a Baton Rouge guy. I can't imagine he wouldn't be interested in coming home.

Nope, not the case. He wanted to be at Texas. He grew up an Alabama fan and was even named after an Alabama player. He was OC at Alabama Saban's first year. Even though he was a big Alabama fan, he left there to go to Texas because it was where he coached and played for seven years. His wife also went to Texas and greaduated there.

He was regarded as being the next head coach at Texas before the latest scandal came out. It is extremely doubtful they will fire him over this. Depending on how things turn out he might leave but would not accept anything less than OC.

Just because he went to school in Baton Rouge does not mean he has any LSU ties whatsoever. He never wanted to go here and feels no loyalty at all. My opinion is he never comes here unless offered the head coaching job.

Isn't that releasing the gender. Or it would be Jane Doe?

He tapped a co-ed trainer or some such female on the bowl trip. We don't want or need him here.

Regarding getting fired over this, he has already been disciplined for this it happened in 2009. His discipline was capping his pay for a year and forcing him into counseling. To discipline him again won't happen. Now does that mean they can't force him out in other ways, obviously they can but they probably won't unless they feel he is not doing his job well. Remember he has a great legacy there from playing. He cheated on his wife and admitted it, unlike Petrino he did not lie or try to cover it up.

He has to deal with it with his family "where it should be dealt with" and just not do it again and he will still be employed with UT for as long as he performs like every other job out there.

What atmoshere is that? Actually having to coach your position effectively and produce results on the field. Doubt if "The Major" could handle the Nick Saban regimen that he demands from his assitants. That's one of the reasons they've won 3 out of the last 4. You don't last on a Saban staff if you're not doing your job up to his standards. BTW, I could care less if he's the biggest jerk on the planet. His results speak for themselves on the field.

I wish LSU would hire him to sweep the leaves out of my RV parking spot in TD Village #1 before I arrive on Friday afternoons. Guess we could always tips him a couple of bucks and he can wipe my arse after I take a good dump after eating all the great tail gate food for the weekend.

So, yeah I am in favor of LSU hiring him in that capacity

Applewhite was a huge disappointment at Bama. He was brought in to tap into Texas recruits, which he failed at. He showed slight signs of good for about half a season, and that was about it. No one in Tuscaloosa wanted to keep Applewhite, especially when his loyalty was questioned as it was obvious Alabama was a stepping stone for Applewhite. He had a very entitled attitude and was not very liked.

Agreed with everything you said but as you pointed out there are lots of ways they could get rid of him if they wanted to.

This is ridiculous. His loyalty was questioned when he and his father were lifelong Bama fans and he was named after an Alabama running back? He was using the job as a stepping stone? So no other Saban assistant ever used the job to get a head coaching job? Isn't that what all assistants try to do?

He has done a good job tapping into Texas recruits since he has been at Texas so maybe it was just that no one in Texas wanted to play for Saban at the time?

No well liked? By who? You?

Don't see how any school would be interested in him,Saban knew he was garbage and ran his sorry arse, so why in the hell would anyone think Miles would want him not to mention he doesn't want anything to do with LSU, never has, never will.

There is a reason he had to take a demotion in leaving Bama for Texas.

He may have grown up a Bama fan but by the time he coached there everyone knew he wanted to be back at Texas.

So he's done a good job recruiting Texas while coaching at Texas. Like that means anything?

He was not well liked by many players, coaches, fans and boosters at Bama (and this info comes from some of those same players, fans and boosters).

IIRC, Major had trouble fitting in with the coaching staff and what Saban wanted to do (pro-style ball control offense)and was essentially marginalized and no longer calling plays by mid season that one year.
