I swear to God that if I don't orgasm while watching The Wire I will feel as if this board has steared me wrong. Seriously, there better be a need for a refractory period between episodes just so I can go for another 60 minutes. I think The Wire has overtaken The Big Lebowski as the most hyped piece of entertainment on this board.

Yeah, I knew this thread wouldn't go well. Actually, it's gone better than I thought it would. I just finished watching Homeland and that's probably why I'd put it a little ahead of The Wire and BB, although you could list them in any order. I am not beyond seeing The Wire>BB>Homeland, or even having BB on top. BB may just end up being the greatest. But that was my opinion as of now, but again it was close. I'm not hearing Game of Thrones being tossed in ahead of any of them. Is it that distant?

The Wire is tops, it's the greatest drama that was ever televised. For me it goes: The Wire > Breaking Bad > The Sopranos > Justified/Boardwalk Empire/Game of Thrones > Mad Men Breaking Bad's fifth season (technically, the first half of the fifth season) suffered from the same problems the Wire's fifth season did. The greatness of Breaking Bad (and the Wire) was the amount of time that allowed plots and characters to unfold at a measured pace and feeling both earned and realistic. By compressing the last seasons you have to sacrifice moments. That said, there is no goddamn way that Homeland is better than the Wire.

When/if you watch the Wire watch the first four episodes in a single sitting. If you're not into it by the end of the fourth episode then it's not for you and that's fine. But for everyone I know it took until the fourth episode to get the rhythm, characters, and slang down. Part of the greatness of the Wire is that there hasn't been another show like it structurally.

“recommend Breaking Bad to everyone you know. Breaking Bad is the best show you’ve ever seen, except maybe The Wire. You will never stop talking about Breaking Bad or The Wire.”

I'm one of the few that didn't care for The Wire apparently. I watched the first season and didn't continue.

As far as the sects scenes goes, Homeland is tops.
Of the three there's no doubt Homeland is number one when it "cums" to that aspect. When she shows up riding Brody's best friend's pony right there in episode 1, nothing can top that. Been waiting to see her entire body in action since Firefly just flaunted her beauty at us. Overall, I can't really decide which of those three to put on top. They're all really, really good. We're talking TV at it's best. I think The Wire and Homeland do have an advantage of being on pay premium channels where they could do more both sex and violence wise, as well as taking it deeper into the plot development from there. So, BB really has held it's own and may just take the cake when it's over.

I've been watching Homeland all week. Half way thru season 2. Most of what I've read on the thread re Homeland is spot on. Season 1 was as good a season of TV as I've seen. So far, season 2 just turned into 24. I love 24, but nobody is gonna put 24 up there with BB and The Wire. Homeland can't be in the conversation with BB and The Wire. It's a one hit wonder. The Wire and BB are Led Zepplin and The Beatles.

I just marathoned Homeland over 2 days. It was definitely unrealistic. ***** Spoilers! Spoilers! ***** The whole pacemaker thing? No one knew that it could be controlled wirelessly? Right. And they just let Brody run free with access to the VP, cabinet, etc. after they know he's a terrorist? The text from Brody to Nazir saving his life, they never found that? It had to be a government phone. I also hate how much of a bitch the son is, that kid is way too old to be acting that emotional all the damn time. I also hate the Carrie falls for Brody, such bull shite IMO. I wish she would have shot him at the end of season 2, that's what makes for good TV, killing off main charecters.
